Preschool Fall Festival
Here are some highlights from the Fall Festival at preschool today ( for some reason the pictures are not in the order I selected them so if it seems random... its the computer I promise!)
Here she is marching in the parade looking a touch happy!

Today was the Fall Festival at preschool. It was the quickest day yet of getting dressed. They were very excited to show their friends their costumes.

Farmer Logan
Today his preschool class had a farmer come to school to talk about growing pumpkins and God's hand in the process. He had such a good time with his friends - it was a great "field trip" too!
The pumpkins were spread out on the athletic field behind the church for the children to pick their own. He went to the first one and said "this is mine!"
Mommy had fun watching him interact with his friends!
Farmer Logan brought snacks for the children... is it just instinct to eat an Oreo this way? Notice he even got the jacket off and rolled up the sleeves for serious snacking!!
Big sister did a good job of supporting him (it is sooo hard when one does something and the other can't!) and even helped him place our newest addition to the fall display. Notice the balloon? Well she was so sweet supporting him that when she asked to go to the store with cookies and balloons (ie Harris Teeter) after school... we did! Yes, they are both spoiled!!

The Vollmer Farm
On Friday, we joined her preschool class on a field trip to The Vollmer Farm. It was a FANTASTIC day! We went on a hayride, saw a calf, jumped, picniced, played and played! When we arrived we were one of about 100 cars and a few school buses... but we where one of three cars as they closed for the day!He was even picked as a volunteer to dress up as a German Brown Chicken... a mighty fine one too!

Vollmer Farm Part 2
The drizzle began right at lunch time so we found shelter for our picnic.
After lunch we went to the area they call "The Back Forty" where the fun really began. Above is the 40 foot underground slide.
Here they are jumping on a huge orange pillow.
Here is the neatest thing... a little house filled with corn. They had a blast in this area. We changed before we left the farm and corn was everywhere.
Finally, we got to pick a pumpkin!

Thankful Mommy

We are blessed to have such a wonderful preschool for our children. The "low down" she provides on the way home helps me look forward to our grown up conversations... his extra tight and loving hugs when I pick him up.... I could go on and on. The best part of the preschool is the focus is on teaching the children about Jesus. The social and academic pieces fall into place but are not the focus. This photo captures the fire these teachers are sparking in my children and for that I am so grateful!! Now I present my son and his coat of many colors... I smile as I type that thinking of her commentary on the way on how hers was different (it was still at church so we couldn't see it!)

Atlantic Beach Fall 2008 (part 1)
We enjoyed the September sunshine at Atlantic Beach. While there, we visited the NC Aquarium, outdoor pool (with awesome waterslide), indoor pool and of course the beach!
Look at all those fish!
The sand is always a hit for him! King Neptune - a real merman - was a hit for them both!

Two of the most beautiful things God made... my daughter and the ocean.
