Gobble, Gobble Round 2

Another family tradition that is anticipated is the gathering at granny and granddaddy's after Thanksgiving.  They host both of thier sides for an oyster roast.  This year granny's three sister and granddaddy's brother and sister joined us.  As I get older, I appreciate these gatherings more and more.  I am even beginning to  enjoy being the youngest!

Granny had already decorated for Christmas and the children really enjoyed checking out all her goods!  Lil sis was able to stay all day without breaking anything!!

It was a glorious day to be outside!!

Lil sis "sliming" Uncle Lewis.

We stayed for the ECU game and changed into our PJ's for the drive home.
We are so thankful that granny and granddaddy continue this tradition.

Thankful Darlings!

I just adore projects the children do at school that show their personalities.  Here is a sample of their Thanksgiving work.

Lil sis was so proud of her turkey. She carried it around a lot before mom rescued it.

Brother's List : Bible, Food, Toys, Dog, Pets.
Wonder why not sports?

Big Sis : "I am thankful for family because they give me comfort. Food so I will not starve. Pets to play with. School so I can learn.  Jesus because he dieded for me.  Bible so I can learn about God. Sports so I can have fun.  House so I will not get wet when it rains."

Gobble, Gobble Round 1

One of our favorite family traditions is going to our cousins on Thanksgiving day.
The children just look forward to it for weeks!  We especially enjoy

stories with grandma,

the awesome food,

discovering new "toys",

being silly,

and just playing with family!!!

This year was one of our largest groups!
There was even a proposal so the gang continues to grow!

Happy Thanksgiving

Coon Watching

Pirate Trip

The Pirates last home game was a 7 PM start...but that did not stop brother from going!
He was so excited.  Look at the cool early birthday present granddaddy gave him!  He can be warm and cool!!!  He was up until midnight with a smile!

The girls had fun hanging out with granny too!
Big sis just loves their big tree.

I mean she did not want to leave the tree!
Fun times and good memories!!

Lil Teacher

I know I just posted some of these recently but look how cute these are!
She loves to be a little momma/teacher to her babies.

They each have names,

they can line up, they read and

of course they have music class!!!!

This often how I find them once she's left the room or napping.
How adorable!!!

Thankful Lil Sis

Lil sis' class had a Thanksgiving Party on a day she doesn't come to preschool so we got to go together.  I am not sure she knew exactly what was going on.  She asked about her lunchbox and bag a few times on the way to the church.  But once she got there she was super excited!

Yes, one of her babies attended with her!

After lunch, the children decorated yummy turkey cookies.
She ate every single bite!

I enjoyed being with my girl.

How cute...while I was helping clean up she decided she'd sneak a few more nuggets!
Words can't describe how thankful we are for this girl!!

The Zoo in the Fall

I think the best time to visit the NC Zoo is the fall.  The weather is perfect and the backgroud is fantastic!  Make the miles of walking go by without thought!

It was nice to be away for just one day...silly monkeys love being togeher!

Hey, that guy is on brother's shirt!

This happened after brother told daddy he couldn't fit in there with them...never say that to daddy!

Beautiful!

Every time big sis rides this she chooses the polar bears...missed seeing the real ones today!

Lil sis finally got her turn and she picked on that didn't move!

Lil sis has a few books about monkeys that she is crazy about...so this was the moment she'd been waiting for...MONKEYS!!!  There were close to last and all day she kept asking for them!

I love these monkeys!

Fun was had by all on our one day getaway!!!!
