Preschool Graduation

Friday was our sweet girl's preschool graduation. She was sooo excited about her special day. She is so ready to move on to Kindergarten! We had all of her grandparents here to celebration with her!

Look at her holding her "diploma"... such a big girl!

The cap and gown really were a extra touch that made her look all grown up!Grandma treated us all to lunch afterwards... she picked her favorite place... Amante Pizza. We were there after lunch and the owner has seen us many, many times so he let the children make their own pizza (the restaurant does this every Monday night) which was an added treat!

Fun at Preschool!

The children's preschool had an end of the year celebration today. We all had a blast! We started in her classroom where the children sang a wonderful song... daddy showed up as a surprise... look how happy she was! The gym was filled with fun things to do...
make foam hats...

snow cones...

and the picnic was moved inside due to weather concerns. It was a lot of fun! We are so thankful for our church and preschool!

First and Last day of 2009 Preschool

Today was the last day of preschool! Here they are in September on the first day of preschool. And today before the last day. He looks a bit less timid and is. She looks and is much more sassy!
Happy Summer!

Fun at the Lake

On Sunday, Grandma's family had a reunion at Kerr Lake. We all had a blast. Coming from a beach girl I must admitt the lake was nice. The children enjoyed the water, their first boat ride (sorry granddaddy - I always thought you would do this but the opportunity arose and we couldn't pass it up!), her first wave runner experience and a fun filled day. All smiles as they boarded the boat.
We weren't sure we wanted her in the lake... but as you can see there was not stopping our fish!

He took about an hour on the dock before he decided to swim with daddy and big sister. That's my boy - always cautious!

Once in, he loved it too!

Look at her! She was loving it! Daddy even let her drive!
Hopefully it won't be 10 years before there's another get reunion!!!

Uncle John

Today we got to see one of our favorite musicians live! He played at a local, community theater (NRCAT). He plays the cutest, child friendly songs! Daddy and the children "discovered" him a few weeks back and we have listened to his CDs many, many times making today extra special. They enjoyed being on stage with boom sticks and Uncle John.

We all enjoyed the show but he especially did. Singing, clapping and ...

flashing that awesome smile the entire time! Thanks Uncle John.
He's coming back June 6th if you are interested.

Summer is Here!

On Tuesday, our neighborhood's swim team began practice. Yes, it was very chilly but no one really minded! She did so well last year, I can hardly wait to see how far she goes this season! He was a bit unsure... maybe because mommy wouldn't get in!

So happy they even posed for a shot together without bribes!

Our little fish was so fast I couldn't get a shot of her in the water showing her whole body!
So you now you know where we will be every afternoon until mid-July. Go Dolphins!!

Morning Surprise!

She woke up to a big surprise this morning... her very first loose tooth!! I can hardly believe she is old enough to have a loose tooth. The neatest part is it is the very first one she got at 3 months old!
She is super happy... can you tell?

Making Dreams Come True

For almost 2 years, she has prayed for a baby sister and princess room. Well, mom and dad are pleased to say that with God's help, we were able to make these wishes come true.
Our third floor is finished (in just 7 weeks!), she has a beautiful princess room and a sweet baby sister is coming in July! We have taken a week to move things upstairs slowly... then came THE princess bed on Saturday morning. She (and brother too!) was beside herself at its sight. I think she had forgotten how precious is was! Just as we (or should I say daddy) was hanging the last curtains and canopy ( a must on her list!) a storm blew threw and we lost power for 2 1/2 hours. This didn't seem to bother her at all. She got in bed with her flashlight and fell right to sleep. She never awoke or called us to come. She woke up like normal and came on down to our room. What a champ!!!
Our true princess!
My dreams came true today as well... being treated like a queen on Mother's Day. Children are a gift from God and I am so very thankful for mine... their daddy too!

Pullen Park

On Sunday, daddy and daughter had some fun together at Pullen Park. The outing included a nice casual boat ride...
her first paddle boat experience... ( I didn't include the huge water snake they saw!)

and a nice train ride.

Strawberry Picking

Delayed again... this week mommy and daddy have been sick!
Last Saturday, daddy took the children strawberry picking. Now I might have joined this adventure except her class was going on Tuesday (this is the reason for Saturday's trip - he was a bit jealous!) As it turned out, it was good he wanted her to come because her class trip was canceled due to rain. The order is totally mixed up but here are some shots from their fun! He is trying to learn the camera.

Yummy red ones! He later learned the green ones weren't so yummy!

She has almost mastered the camera... and to think she was so against her own camera - I tried to convince her that would be a great Christmas present.

Can you tell who the was trying to "win"? Daddy kept helping him fill his basket to keep up!

Baseball Fun!

Better late than never....
Last Saturday, daddy took the children to a small, local college to see baseball. I am not sure how much of the game they watched but they had a ball!! It was almost 90 so a shady picnic was great!
Look at that proud boy!! The visiting team was the Fireants and they were kind enough to pose with him... very nice!

WOW! What a sweet face!

Daddy came prepared with their gloves so they could enjoy the batting cages as well! What a fun day with daddy while mommy stayed home to sleep and sleep and sleep!!!
