Thankful Part 2

On Thanksgiving Day we took a road trip to be with family. This tradition is one we look forward to for a long time before Thanksgiving! The children just love their big cousins...oddly enough not many pictures with them this year. Playing in a cousins wheelchair ( in PJ's b/c this was just before we left!)
Games!

Lil sis had such a good time keeping up with everyone!

I just love this one...classic big sis helping lil sis!

It was nice to be outside with sand instead of clay!

Lil sis doesn't take to too many people but she just loved Tom!
We had such a wonderful day!

We are thankful!

Here is a sample of the children's work from school.Big sis has the right idea...so thankful for her good heart!

The last two are brother's....really fun to read.
The second one says "sisters, family & house."

I guess if asked to name three things I am thankful for I'd say:
The Cross and ALL it represents.
My family -especially the gift of motherhood.
The health and happiness enjoyed by my family.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

Thanksgiving Service Performance

Tonight brother got his moment in the spotlight. It was his first church performance (outside of preschool) and he was a bit anxious. He did such a great job!Can you spot our handsome son?
Doesn't he look so grown up?
Is he really almost five years old?!?!?!
Melts his mommy's heart every time!

Lil sis had to go peek!

Loved ones enjoying the show (actually I think they are waiting patiently here!)

Oh how we are thankful for our son and his love of the Lord!

Pullen Park

Pullen Park is one of our favorite places to visit as a family. The outside park part is being redone so we didn' get to ride the trains or boats. However, we did walk around and swim!
Big sis just rolled and rolled down a small incline. This picture says so much about brother and lil sis. He is such a great brother and she simply adores him. She was not going to be left behind and he was not going to let her fall! I love watching these two interact! He will be an amazing man!

After enjoying the warmth outside...we went inside to the aquatic center.

oh how they just love the water!

Brother was surprised at how much he could....I think he forgot what a great swimmer he became last summer.

Lil sis was not scared on bit...

very determined little girl!

Now if mommy can get the nerve up to take them alone!

Thankful Part 1

Today we got to spend the day with the entire Jones/Lewis side of the family. Amazing that all of my parents siblings were able to make the gathering and most of their children. We had a wonderful time of food and fellowship. The children love playing with their cousins! Look at that arm!

She can make anything a slide!

Granny and Granddaddy have the best climbing tree in their front yard.

Taked my breath away!

Lil sis was not as impressed with the leaves as the older two were!

Lil sis does not stay still for much...

But Uncle Lewis had a special touch.

There were also two big football games one...no wins but the fun was in watching them, right?!?!

Maybe the most special part of the day was the steamed oysters!
This started as a tradition for my family on the day after Thanksgiving as a change for the turkey & ham deal. Over the years it has grown to extended family. Daddy even hires shuckers now which is a huge treat!!!!

Lil is wanted a taste...

and another! I was very impressed until she came to me a few minutes later and shoved something in my mouth. Yes, it was the oyster she had been chewing on...yuck! Maybe next year sweety!

Big sis is like me in so many ways...I found her seated at the dessert table!

Daddy does such an awesome job...bu I think it wears him out!
Thanks daddy - it has become a highlight of the holiday season for me!

Before leaving town, we went to Uncle Lewis and Aunt Jennie's house to toast marshmellows. The children had a ball! I found brother seeking the Hershey bars!

Bo (Uncle Lewis' very large puppy) decided he wanted lil sis' Pinky...
that didn' go over well!

Can you see how happy they are to be with their big cousins!

I had to add this. I made this when I was 6, 7 or 8 and mom still puts it out every year! I have looked and looked for large pinecones to have my darlings make one but haven't seen them.
Thanks for keeping it mom!

Fun in the Sun!

The children are enjoying break and time at home but today we ventured out.

We met some friends at a park they just love!
My fearless girls.

Outside Girl

Our sweet little sis LOVES to be outside (usually with brother!)
I took the digital camera and video today to capture her enjoyment...but she gets so serious around cameras...I guess that's better than the tears a professional camera bring!! This was as close to a smile as I could get. I think she knew I didn't really want her on the recycling bin!
Our little scientist loves the fall leaves!

"airplane!"

I could just kiss those cheeks all day long. I especially love the way they "bounce" as she runs down the driveway.
