First Theme Gathering

Brother's class had a neat experience this week. It was called a Theme Gathering. Parents were invited to the classroom to hear all about the activities they had just complete with their theme of "All about Me". This was a lot of fun. I was impressed that most of them stood up and spoke! He is having such a great year! Can hardly wait to see what's next for our amazing boy!! Singing their alligator song and counting backwards.

I took this because it was just cute. While looking through the pictures from the day I looked at this and my jaw dropped...look at her feet! Not the cute shoes but the fact that her feet touch the strap at the bottom of the stroller!!! Where oh where are the chubby legs that used to hang there???

Each child got to share their favorite work from the theme. He chose his "Garden of Eden" painting. I was such a proud mommy listening to him describe it!! Pride is ok for a parent right?

Lil sis wanted to give him a hug in the worst way but waited until the end!

Big Sis' Special Week

This week is big sis' special week in first grade. Today we all surprised her at lunchtime! Waiting patiently...

or maybe not!

Oh...what's in here? Brownies? Yes, mommy and brother made a batch with sprinkles before coming to school.

Yea, happy family pose!

We are so very proud of our first grader!

Teething Princess

Lil sis was sooo very proud of herself when she found this princess crown and got to wear it ( I think she knew it was big sis'!) But as soon as I got the camera ready...she was done! See the sweet finger in her mouth? 4 molars at one time will do that to a princess!

Saturday at the Ball Field

Part of the birthday fun was watching brother play a tball game. He is enjoying this a lot...but will really wants to play the game like he sees it on TV. Our boy #11.

Our slushie faced princess.

Lil sis just hanging and playing.

Mommy's Special Day

Yea for Birthdays! Mommy had her special day!
It was a full busy day with lots of love...and chocolate cake!!!

No birthday is complete without presents...and I must say my children pick out the best ones! Mommy helped with the purse (isn't it precious with their photos?), brother picked out a glass ring box, big sis a purple crystal ring and lil sis ( with the older two's help) a purple pen. I will treasure these always because my children thought of me when they got these gifts!

Wisdom & Honesty

Our children are full of wisdom and honesty! When they make me laugh, I often think "oh, I wish I could remember that forever"...so I thought if I put them here I could share a smile and remember longer!

Brother was running an errand with me yesterday. I paid for an item and was leaving the store when the nice lady reminded me to get the item I had paid for. I said, " Oh me its been one of those days!" A few minutes later when we got in the van, he repeated what I said. I asked him if he was having a day like that and he said in a very matter of fact voice "no mom, I'm just a kid!" Love that boy more than words can express!!

Big sis awoke after only a few minutes of sleep one night this week in a complete anxiety attack over an issue at school. I encouraged her to talk to her teacher and reminded her how nice her teacher was. Whe I could tell she was still afraid of getting in trouble, I asked her if she'd ever seen her teacher get angry at anyone. Her reply "no, but she has to start with someone!" Sweet, thoughtful girl!!

Daddy took the older two children shopping for my birthday present. When they returned home I asked what they got me (I am like a child when it comes to my birthday!!) . Big sis told me! When dad and brother came in a few minutes later they asked her if she told me and she responded "yes, because she asked!" Honesty to the tee!!!

14 Wonderful Months!

The last 14 months are just to wonderful to describe! Lil sis has brought such enjoyment to each of our lives! She is full of spunk and so very affectionate! She loves to laugh and snuggle. Her world lights up when she sees any one of us...especially brother and big sis. She goes with the flow better than any baby (not ready to say toddler yet !) I have ever been around. She loves to nap but so often doesn't get to finish!
Shakes and quivers when she see a Capri Sun. She can drink it without spilling too...which is amazing because we usually have to change the messy girl twice a day!!

Beginning to like some toys but still prefers non-toy items. This Cascade container is a keeper!

Mommy is trying very hard to get her to focus just a little...

we had fun!!

She looks so cute all dressed for church...too bad she screams when left!

Loves, loves to sit (and stand!) in chairs!

Finally...she will at least play with books! One step closer to reading them!!
We love our sweet lil sis so very much!!!
