A Swim Party in January

Today was the offical party for our five year old! It was a splashy good time!! She and 16 of her friends from preschool, church and neighborhood swam together at Pullen Aquatic Center. As most of you know, she has strong opinions and doesn't change her mind easily. .. this made deciding on a party location a challenge for mommy. One fall day while playing at Pullen Park she noticed the pool and when we went in to check it out there was a party in process. That was it, her mind was made up!! How fun to walk in 40 degree weather to a warm building and swim. I had trouble with the pictures... no one was still long enough to get faces! This was actually the third hour (after most of her friends left we stayed to swim more!). It is apparent she was tired!!!
Brother enjoyed celebrating with her.

Yummy, cupcakes and Cheetoes!!! Life is so good at five!!

The one pose I captured! Can you read her mind? "Mommy, please stop so I can play!"

She made fish faces in the bath and said she stayed in the water so long she was a fish! Maybe her love of the water explains why Ariel is her favorite princess.
If you are looking for a fun activity on a cold winters day, check out your local public pool! It was FANTASTIC!!!!!! Thanks to all of her friends and family who celebrated with us!!!

Five Year Pictures

Today we had her five year picture taken... as you can see, she is a natural!!

F - I - V - E !!!!!

Our sweet, precious daughter is now five years old!! She has brought such amazing joy to us each and every day. It is awesome to watch this little person grow! I see a bit of each of us in her every day. She is funny, caring, sensitive and happy. She loves her family, especially daddy, and has asked Jesus into her heart. God has amazing things planned for this child!
On Thursday, we celebrated big... that's the Foster way! No celebration is complete without a mascot... Chuch E Cheese is one of our favorites!

Keeping with the doggy theme, we shared bone shaped brownies (dipped in chocolate with sprinkles) with her preschool friends. Yummy!

OK, the order is off again... one day I might figure this out!!! Here is a great shot of the children watching Chuck E Cheese make an appearance while we enjoyed pizza.

The day began with presents... that's the mommy in her!!!!! I think she liked this one !?!

The morning was complete with a huge birthday huge from brother...even sweeter that the cinnamon buns!!!! Happy Birthday Sweet Baby!

A Day With Daddy

As many of you know, I am not a glowing beauty while pregnant! I am thankful for this blessing and know that it is all worth the end result... a precious life! However, daddy does such a great job while I am pregnant ( as well as when I'm not!!) of stepping up. He cooks and over looks the messy house so well. One of his and the children's favorite thing is to take an "adventure" on Saturdays. I love this too because it gives me catch up ( or sleep!) time. This weekend they went to a popular spot of theirs... The Museum of Life and Science in Durham. Here is just small glimpse of the fun they had. What a pose... I have one of her doing this in December that I will have to add.
The huge sand box is always a hit!

They took a train ride. He actually didn't want to ride. You can see his hesitation and her look is because this was not the seat she wanted ( they stopped her b/c the conductor offered to take a picture!)

Change of Heart

I have to admit that I went to sleep last night praying for NO SNOW!!!! Once I saw the excitment on my children's faces I quickly had a change of heart. They were very excited to see it ( it is only the second snow for each of them and he wasn't even walking last time!) but only wanted to play a short amount of time... which was perfect! I "forced" a pose on the porch to capture the scence behind them... it was awesome!
He liked it but was pretty careful.

She was all about the snowballs.

After 15 minutes of getting dressed we finally got out... then the playing lasted maybe 20 minutes!!! I think daddy will take them back out for snowman building when he gets home.

Fun Saturday

I finally found the camera!!! YEA!!!!!
Today we went Marbles Musuem for a birthday party and spent the afternoon with a dear, sweet friend we hadn't seen in over 2 years! ( None of those are here for privacy of the other child!) But it was an awesome day!!!!!! Oh my, this is a "trick" mommy would never try!!!!!

She had her faced painted and enjoyed "controling" the fish with her mouth.

I never knew firemen were so darn cute!!!

The children remembered the pirate ship which was amazing because we hadn't been here since his second birthday party! The swing was just her speed.

He enjoyed dressing up like a pirate! It was interesting watching him get into the dress up things because he doesn't seem to interested here...maybe its because our stuff is mostly princesses and fairies!!!
