Hat Day

On Tuesday, it was Hat Day at preschool. Just before pick up time the children came to the gym for a parade. It is amazing how excited they were over something that seemed so simple! Look at that handsome smile... even if he was with a friend wearing a wolfpack hat!
She moving along but paused for a brief smile.

Yes, mommy forced a pose outside before leaving!!! How sweet!

Spring Football

First, yes are are still true blue TARHEELS !!! Last year daddy and the boy miss the Tarheel spring practice so they went to Dook. It was less crowded and fun... so this year daddy took both children to Durham on Saturday for an adventure day! They both had a blast in the bounce houses and watching the game. The players were very friendly and he was so proud to meet them!
We might not show him this until he makes it big in the pros!

Tackling is a favorite pass time around here... they had fun on a real football field! Daddy's adventures are so much fun!!! Mommy and little sister will join them soon... maybe!!!

Happy Easter!

"Candy and treats, they taste so sweet!
Brand new clothes, they look so neat!...
But Jesus is the JOY of Easter day!"
That is the chorus from one of the children's favorite Easter songs and how appropriate for us all to remember on this important day in the lives of every Christian!! It is amazing each year to watch our children understand the importance of each holiday. This year they both woke up this morning with excitement and joy to celebrate Easter Sunday. They understand that God sent his only son to die for their sins. They know that He suffered for them. They are also glad to know He lives!!!!!
We spent the long weekend enjoying the abundant life we have been given.
A hike to the lake...
Discovering a new park that is sooo close by...

Posing for a photo before church...

and hunting eggs with friends.

We are so thankful for each day we have been given and look forward to what tomorrow brings!

Let's Go Canes!

As many on you know, one of my greatest passions before my children was Carolina Hurricanes hockey! I have only been to a handful of games in the past 5 years but have shared my joy of the sport with the children and really enjoyed our Center Ice package! Well what a treat we had Thursday night!! Our whole family got to attend a game thanks to daddy's company! It was AWESOME to experience their excitement! He was very serious and decided maybe he would play hockey instead of football!

Look at all of that Canes red!

Here she is cheering... seriously on her own she broke out "Let's Go Canes!" What a proud moment!

They were so excited all day. They even planned which "guys" got to go with them. Before this practice was a game to them (kind of like the Disney Store at the mall is Disney World!)... I guess that spell is broken! Now cheering them through the playoffs will be extra special and maybe, just maybe we'll head downtown for a parade and see the Stanley Cup again soon!!!

Easter Musical

As mentioned in previous posts... we are so blessed to have a wonderful preschool for our darlings. It is a Christ centered and nuturing environment for them to learn. Today they had an Easter Musical. The children were soooo excited. He has been very sick this week (today was the first day since Sunday he had the energy to walk down the stairs!) but was determined to get on stage with his friends ( I let him because he is better just really weak... not contagious!) See the love?
He was so proud to be on stage.

I caught her waiting with her class behind the stage. SO excited!

Here is a group view... he is center surrounded by girls and she is in the back with red bow.
It was awesome to hear the sing songs and celebrate such an important holiday!

Our Little Party Hoppers

We count our friends as one of our many, many blessings. It is so awesome to watch the children grow close to their friends as they get older. This weekend we had 3 very special friends celebrate birthdays in 3 very FUN ways. On Friday, we went to a paint your pottery place. It was fun... look at her admiring his concentration! The pizza next door was fantastic as well!

On Saturday, on of his best little buddies (or should I say budets) from preschool and church celebrated her third birthday. It was planned to be outside but her smart mommy moved it to the church gym when the forecast called for rain and storms.

She has a huge bounce house, cotton candy machine, tatooes and loads of fun!! This was the afternoon event and notice he changed his shirt? Not because the first was dirty but because this was a Mickey Mouse themed party and he wanted his Mickey Mouse shirt.

Our morning celebration was at the Musuem of Natural Sciences downtown. They were excited about this because they love the animals... and of course the birthday boy!! This photo was taken at the end of the party. Most children were getting restless and ready but these too very bright children went back to the flannel board and retold the story just like the leader had done with the group. She read the story and he placed the animals up as she read!! How sweet!!

Who knew the animals would be so cute!!!! Happy Birthday to our 3 special friends!!!

Waiting for the Lamb!

Well March has come in like a lion for us and we are waiting for it to leave like a lamb! Since I posted last we have done so much. Here are some photos to represent part of the fun! Going to the museum on a warm, sunny day with daddy.
Watching a college gymnastics meet on a daddy/daughter afternoon.

Finding new parks on a daddy/son morning.

Tasting their first chocolate bunny... yummy!

Visiting the museum (one of our favorite places to go with daddy!) on a chilly day.
On top of all of the weekend fun we have cleared the attic out and workers have made tremdenous progress on her princess room aka the third floor.
