Pet Day

Today was Pet Day for big sis' class. She was very excited to have Zooables come to school and meet her friends. Her friends were thrilled to meet Zooables!!!

There were lots of dogs, a cat, an ant farm and Zooables. The children were very curious.

Oh how she wanted to take him out...but she listened to mommy!
Lil sis had a big time too!

She loves dogs but rarely gets to pet one...our Geli is not big on little people!

This guy can just come home with us! Very good dog!!

It was a lot of fun coming to school with Zooables!

First Game

Brother had his first baseball game this evening.

He was super excited and did so very well.

He played well and was focused on the game the entire time! Here he is warming up for his first time at bat. Getting ready... sizing it up....
WHAM!!!
First base,
second base,
third base,
coming
home for his first run!!!
Oh yea...first of many!!!

Warming up that arm. He throws left and catches right with amazing aim! He watched the game, cheered for his team and kept track of ball/strikes/outs all evening!

The girls also had a blast. This game was at a church with a super playground!

GO PIRATE!!!!

Hockey

As most of you know hockey was my passion before becoming a mommy.

So when brother asked to go see the Hurricances at the RBC Center...I made plans to do it!

The best part was he was just as happy to come to a practice as a game! Here he's realizing I was right and he would want his jacket!

Picking any seat was fun! Never too early to appreciate this awesome sport!
He watched so carefully...
with a smile and look of total happiness!!!

Warmed my heart so much!!!

Lil sis was interested in what he was watching but mostly enjoyed the other things the arena had to offer. Like folding chairs and
and steps with bars! She even broke out a few gymnastics moves!!

#20 Troy Bodie tossed a puck over and he got it!

I am so glad I got to share this experience with him!!!

**Please excuse the hair...we used gel last night and he thought this morning's "mohawk" was pretty cool!!! I am just glad he has that kind of self confidence...and that he can wear a hat to his baseball game tonight!!!

Meeting Arthur's Author

( His new release and posssibly the first hardback book I ever paid full price for!)

Today I took the children on a little adventure to meet a famous children's author that I happened to really like! Big sis and Brother waiting patiently...
while lil sis got a little silly!
Marc Brown wrote one of our favorite book and TV series Arthur. He was in Raleigh today for a book signing. He spoke about how the series began as a bedtime story for his son and grew from there! It did a great job and even showed us how to draw Arthur!
I really enjoyed hearing him speak and bought the book right then.

Next we got in line and were able to meet him.

It was very cool for me to thank him as a mommy and former teacher!

I am not ususally big on autographs but this personalized book is very special.

Arthur was a favorite read aloud in my classroom and my darlings really like the PBS show!

Thanks Marc Brown!

Airport Field Trip

Brother's class had a wonderful field trip to the Franklin County Airport today.

What a beautiful day to be outside!! My handsome boy....

with such a big heart. He looks out for his sister so well! It was quite windy but we enjoyed learning about airplane and helicopters!

And he really enjoyed getting in the small airplane!

He told daddy that he drove to Hawaii!
After a nice picnic with this friends we went to a great park to wait for time to pick up big sis.
She loved the slide and swings...
while he enjoyed the mud!!!

All around it was s wonderful spring day!!

Little Wooden Bus

Lil sis found a treasured toy today and really seems to like it.

It is a little wooden bus. As you pull it the people go up and down.

This is very neat because she is playing with a toy!

Iti s very special because my Granny made this when I was a child!
