Thankful Part 1

Today we got to spend the day with the entire Jones/Lewis side of the family. Amazing that all of my parents siblings were able to make the gathering and most of their children. We had a wonderful time of food and fellowship. The children love playing with their cousins! Look at that arm!

She can make anything a slide!

Granny and Granddaddy have the best climbing tree in their front yard.

Taked my breath away!

Lil sis was not as impressed with the leaves as the older two were!

Lil sis does not stay still for much...

But Uncle Lewis had a special touch.

There were also two big football games one...no wins but the fun was in watching them, right?!?!

Maybe the most special part of the day was the steamed oysters!
This started as a tradition for my family on the day after Thanksgiving as a change for the turkey & ham deal. Over the years it has grown to extended family. Daddy even hires shuckers now which is a huge treat!!!!

Lil is wanted a taste...

and another! I was very impressed until she came to me a few minutes later and shoved something in my mouth. Yes, it was the oyster she had been chewing on...yuck! Maybe next year sweety!

Big sis is like me in so many ways...I found her seated at the dessert table!

Daddy does such an awesome job...bu I think it wears him out!
Thanks daddy - it has become a highlight of the holiday season for me!

Before leaving town, we went to Uncle Lewis and Aunt Jennie's house to toast marshmellows. The children had a ball! I found brother seeking the Hershey bars!

Bo (Uncle Lewis' very large puppy) decided he wanted lil sis' Pinky...
that didn' go over well!

Can you see how happy they are to be with their big cousins!

I had to add this. I made this when I was 6, 7 or 8 and mom still puts it out every year! I have looked and looked for large pinecones to have my darlings make one but haven't seen them.
Thanks for keeping it mom!
