Camping

Daddy and Big Sis had a fun weekend camping with her Y Princess tribe at Camp Seafarer.

The first two pictures show how neat of a camp this is as well as how beautiful the weather was! They have been looking forward to this for awhile and the weekend did not disappoint!!
I always think of "home" when I see the sound, pine trees and flat land...breathtaking!

Their cabin was very close to the water and the girls made friends with the turtles first thing!

There was a loose schedule with plenty of activities to choose from. The meals and a few whole group activites were at a set time.

Sleeping on the top bunk was what she was most looking forward to...not sure how much sleeping there was!

How How my princess and her daddy!

She found a huge shark's tooth while digging.
I love this canoe shot. Can you see the daddy and daughter on the zip line up in the air? This was something she really wanted to try! They waited in line, got up there and daddy wasn't sure he really wanted to go. But he did because he wanted to be there to help her...yep, she went down first so he had too! Our girl is so brave!! Seeing this makes me so glad its only for dads!!

The Butterflies

Watching the awesome fireworks with daddy. This was over at Sea Gull along with a ghost story teller. Thankfully she understood that it wasn't real!!

Look at that!! They caugt a fish right outside of their cabin...with a real worm!

Again...glad its for dads!!

Big sis and Fireball Man.

The theme was super heros.

Fireball Man, Vegtable Man and Jaw Breaker made appearences throughout the weekend.

She has always loved the water and thankfully a pretty good swimmer! I can hardly believe how brave she is when I look at these. I would have never done this as a child...never!

I have tried to retell the details (but may come back to edit!) of an amazing weekend. I am so thankful they get to share this special time together.

Mommy, brother and lil sis also had fun hanging out with friends, going to church and watching brother's baseball game!

Jellybeans!!

Today we enjoyed Jellybeans, not the candy but the roller skating rink!

The children had very simple requests for Spring Break. Last week brother wanted lunch at McDonalds. This week (yes, two separate Spring Breaks!) big sis wanted to go to Jellybeans. She has never roller skated and knows a school party is coming up there soon! I was feeling brave and with the help of a good friend/neighbor we had a blast!!!

It was such a flashback to me! Everything looked just like the roller rinks did in the 80's! The booths in the eating area, the cirlce "tables" to rest on, the benches along the outsides, the arcade games (these were a little more advanced!) the disco ball...it was wild!! We took it slow since it was our first trip and started on the carpet area.

Then slowly moved to the rink but close to the rails.

OK, is this not priceless?

(Sorry big sis if you are reading this as a teenager one day! I love you but this is super funny!!)

Oh my lil sis had a hard time at first because she wanted to try this sooo bad!

Slowly they get the hang of it.

Then once the lights go down and the disco ball is spinning...they let go and begin skating.

Next time I looked they were taking off across the middle! WOW, she really caught on fast!

By this point brother was done. He tried but in true brother form he was afraid of not doing it correctly. He and lil sis enjoyed the arcade...with no tokens!!!

So proud! She has always been super at setting goals and not stopping until she accomplishes them. Go Big Sis!!

Ok, I took this not just because lil sis loves trains or "choo-choos" but for the backgroud. I told you a total flashback! Do you see the payphones? This is not an old building either! Fantastic!

Just a little more sweetness!!!

Happy Easter!!!

Happy Resurrection Day!

Today we celebrate one of the two most importants days on the calendar!

Jesus suffered for us...powerful thought!

He lives today and loves us!

We have had a great weekend talking about this with the children and spending time with family. Then of course before church I tried for a good picture of all three darlings...not a single one with all looking at me and happy. Not one. I'll spare the tears, tongues out and dresses up shots for their sake!!!
Started inside with less distractions...

but it was such a beautiful day....

then came the sand...

and sass. Don't you love the hand on the hip?

Followed by the sweetest boy ever!!!

He loves us all and just wants his girls to be happy.

Daddy teaches an 8:30 class and we were all smiles when we saw him waiting for us!

So after church I try again...

Then we went to play a bit and enjoy the beauty some more!

Happy Easter!!

Go Pirates!!

After family fun, we headed out to the ball field. Very American to hunt eggs, eat and watch a ballgame!! Brother was so excited. Our Little Slugger

He played third base and caught three balls for the three first inning outs!! Go #11!

This field is his favorite because of the dugouts!!

Good Job Pirates!

He had the biggest cheering section!!

And big sis had a blast just playing!
